About

ORGANIZER The Little Black Dress Gala

The Little Black Dress Gala is an elegant intersection of philanthropy, the arts, education, fashion, and support for the underprivileged youth that have the potential to shape our beautiful city. Wear your little black dress (or suit!) for the cause and join us for a glamourous evening of jazz, ballet, opera and giving back at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on May 26, 2017. The Gala showcases established artists, designers and musicians, while providing young and budding local talent the opportunity to show their work. The Gala is further marked by its multicultural inclusivity and sincere celebration of the diverse beauty of the Metro Vancouver community.

Youth and women are the primary focus of the Little Black Dress Gala, with proceeds going to support Help Change My City Alliance (HCMC Alliance). HCMC Alliance provides mentorship to troubled and underprivileged youth in the Vancouver community, helps them find employment, and gives post-secondary bursaries to those youth who have overcome challenging circumstances and want to go on to higher education. The Gala also gifts tickets and little black dresses to several women in need from local shelters and/or women’s centres, to encourage them, to show them that they are deeply appreciated and supported by the community in Metro Vancouver.

Many forward thinking, philanthropic companies have taken advantage of our generous corporate sponsorship offers for this event.  Sponsoring  the Gala contributes to your company’s triple bottom line by fulfilling your commitment to Corporate social responsibility, and by offering high visibility (including signage and online brand presence) before, during and after the Gala.

Regardless of your personal or company’s particular philanthropic focus – be it youth, education, the arts, design, women in need, single parents, or relief of poverty – this event is sure to provide your team with an unforgettable evening while fulfilling your altruistic goals.

Just as no closet is complete without a little black dress or a suit, we believe no community is complete without an opportunity to give back. The Little Black Dress Gala has grown beyond our wildest imaginings, and we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the growing support of this event.

Wear it for the cause on May 26th, 2017!

Event Partner: Canadian Men In Suits Society

We have inspired the men (as usual) to start a group called the Canadian Men In Suits Society who are now partnering with the Little Black Dress Gala and Help Change My City Social Impact Awards and Recognition for the two fundraising events. So if you know man who has a suit or can find a suit, tell him to “Wear It For The Cause”. Send them to www.wearitforthecause.com.

The Canadian Men In Suits Society is a community of social Good Men. The group includes entrepreneurs, professionals, local business owners, artists and scene shifters who come together to share their work and meet with other socially minded individuals in the city of Vancouver. Their purpose is to build and mentor leaders and encourage community growth through the development of our future leaders, the youth.

The Canadian Men In Suits vision is to gather quarterly to hear from reputable speakers who are leaders and influencers within our community, to mentor up and coming young men into leaders while experiencing great entertainment by featured local artists. Proceeds from their events are designated towards the lasting development and leadership training of at-risk or multi-barriered youth and young men in the Metro Vancouver area.

Charity Partner: Help Change My City Alliance

The Little Black Dress Gala cause of choice is youth and young people’s advancement. For this reason we give proceeds from our events to our friend and community partner Help Change My City Alliance (HCMC Alliance) a non-for-profit organization in Vancouver, BC. The proceeds help jump start and support youth programs HCMC Alliance is implementing in our city and hopes to expand further in the province of British Columbia.

Help Change My City Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to the pursuit of lasting change in the lives of youth and young people in Metro Vancouver. The goal of the HCMC Alliance is that through their programs and mentorship, they are able to walk with the youth and young people to a place of personal stability and sustainability. Within the programs offered the youth are able to understand that they are loved, cared for and that they are a valuable part of community.

As the process of mentorship continues the youth are able to discover their life purpose, recognize that they have gifts and abilities that they can draw from to make a difference in their personal lives, their families, communities and society as a whole.
